Can my company apply for LIAA funding?
To receive support from LIAA, your business must fit within the general categories of micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises. Associations and foundations that carry out economic activities and bring together at least three companies can also apply.
The amount of co-financing depends on the size of your company: 50% for small businesses, 40% for medium, and 30% for larger organizations within the small and medium-sized enterprise group.
Company size is determined by the number of employees, annual turnover, and balance sheet total. These figures are taken from your last closed financial year and are part of the standard EU definitions of enterprise size.

Step-by-step application process with required documents
Applying for LIAA support follows a clear path. Here’s what you need to prepare and how the process works:
- Preparation - Register your company on business.gov.lv, clarify your project idea, and collect required documents.
- Supplier offers - Conduct a price survey with at least three supplier quotes and keep the documentation. One of these offers can be from us as your IT partner.
- Submission - Fill in the application form on business.gov.lv and attach your supporting materials.
- Evaluation and approval - LIAA reviews your application. Once approved, you sign a contract. At this point, funding is reserved for your project.
- Procurement plan - If your planned procurement is €70,000 or more (excluding VAT), or if you are a public procurement subject, submit a procurement plan within 10 working days after contract signing.
- Implementation - You may start your project after submitting the application, but you cannot complete it before the contract is signed.
- Payment request - After project completion, submit your payment request within three months, but no later than 31 August 2029.
